Celebrating the 4th

As we always do, we made the trip over to Warren to enjoy the Packard Band and fireworks for the 4th of July. We packed a picnic and braved the heat. We had a great time and just missed getting drenched by the storm that came as we got into the car.

Harrison checking out Grandpa's cool drum mallets before the concert.

Giving the timpani a try.

Grandma spoiled him with Spiderman & Batman popsicles
from the ice cream truck.

Andrew enjoying our picnic.

Poor hot baby! Look at that red face!

He had a great time & loved clapping!
Harrison is our little conductor. He waved his arms to each piece . . . on the beat most of the time! He even caught the tempo changes!

When we told him earlier in the day that it was almost time to go see fireworks, he exclaimed, "And the band?!" and he started waving his arms & crashing invisible cymbals. We didn't even mention the concert, but he knew we were going to see Grandpa play in the band!

Loving every minute of it.
Despite the temperature he had lots of energy!
Happy Birthday America!
